always enjoyed billy walker....saw him at midwest country theater in sandstone minn several times...talked with him a bit also...thoroughly enjoyed his performances....he was a real pro and a good person....will be missed by many...

I spent many days as a youngster sitting on the floor listening to Billy's music as my dad played the records. I had the opportunity to meet Billy and Betty at the Nashville Palace in March 2006 while he was doing a lunch concert there. He was very gracious and spent time making sure we were enjoying his show. He began to call me "Coach" due to my job as a football coach in Indiana. Today on my office wall I have a picture of Billy that says "To Coach, Best Wishes Always, Billy Walker". I treasure that photo and know that my day is smiling to have Billy in the choir that sings in heaven!

My mother introduced me to country music and her two favorites were Jimmy C. Newman and Billy Walker--a pair of great talents and classy gentlemen. The deaths of Mr. Walker, his wife, and their friends, and the serious injuries to his grandson, were tragic. I am glad to read that Josh is better. In the background, the Opry is playing on my computer. As I miss my mother, I miss him.
